Friendship at work
"Substantive research questions:
Why is friendship, so nourishing and structuring in private life, considered risky or even undesirable in the workplace by both employees and hierarchies?
Don’t we deprive professional relationships of a human dimension or even a wealth / resource at the individual and collective level in the company?
More concrete question for workers and managers:
From the following research questions, we explored, if present, how friendship could be constructively considered and appeased in organizations:
Does private friendship exist at work in organizations?
Can private friendship at work be a factor of well-being within the organization for friends? Is this also true for their colleagues?
Does it exist within the framework of hierarchical relationships (N+1; -N-1) within the same service; and, if so, what are its effects?
How can managers take its existence into account to support their teams, namely the friends themselves, but also their colleagues?"
