Quito : great success for the 4th Innovation Challenge !

On April 6, 234 young people took part in the “Push it” Innovation Challenge, organized by the PUCE-Icam International Faculty of Innovation.
Creating, designing and learning while having fun – that’s the aim of the PUCE-Icam Innovation Challenge ! For this 4th edition, the 234 young people who entered the competition outdid themselves. Coming from 18 different secondary schools, the youngsters, aged 15 to 17, competed in teams. Each of the 64 teams had to design a device (robot, vehicle, etc.) capable of pushing a heavy load (around 1 kg) across a surface.
The idea behind this challenge was to get them to develop their creativity in the face of an engineering problem. The aim is not only to propose a solution, but also to apply it, in the spirit of integral engineering training. In this way, the Puce-Icam Innovation Challenge not only stimulates young people’s interest in engineering and innovation, but also helps to raise the profile of the campus !

234 jeunes ont participé, le 6 avril dernier, au Challenge de l’Innovation “Push it”, organisé par la Faculté Internationale d’Innovation PUCE-Icam.
Créer, concevoir, apprendre tout en s’amusant, tel est l’objectif du Challenge de l’Innovation Puce-Icam ! Pour cette 4ème édition, les 234 jeunes inscrits se sont dépassés. Venant de 18 collèges différents, les jeunes âgés de 15 à 17 ans, se sont affrontés par équipe. Chacune des 64 équipes avait en effet à concevoir un dispositif (robot, véhicule, etc.) qui devait pouvoir pousser une lourde charge (environ 1 kg) sur une surface.
L’idée, à travers ce défi, est de les amener à développer leur créativité face à un problème d’ingénierie. Il s’agit non seulement de proposer une solution, mais aussi de l’appliquer, dans l’esprit de la formation d’ingénieur intégral. Le Challenge de l’Innovation Puce-Icam permet ainsi de susciter l’intérêt des jeunes pour l’ingénierie et l’innovation et contribue également à la notoriété du campus !
