Habitat tour by GAF beneficiaries and Icam students
On May 3, 4th year Bachelor International Icam students handed over the keys to a Tiny House to the Groupe Amitié Fraternité (GAF) association, as part of their final project. The Tiny House will provide accommodation for homeless people in need, offering a concrete solution to a pressing social problem.
The final project of the International Bachelor’s program is a 1:1 scale project, in this case a “Low Tech Habitat”. This project, carried out over two semesters, involves the design (semester 1) and construction (semester 2) of a “habitat of tomorrow”, with a particular focus on low-tech solutions.

The students wanted to add a significant human dimension, in line with Icam’s values. To this end, a partnership was established with Groupe Amitié Fraternité (GAF). This year, on the Icam site in Toulouse, students worked in collaboration with GAF, which runs “Lieux à Vivre” (Places to Live) for the homeless.
The Tiny House is the result of a sustainable, low-tech project. It uses recycled materials and incorporates features such as a green roof and a solar slate heating system for optimum insulation and effective regulation of the interior temperature. In addition, the installation of dry toilets reduces water consumption, and a phytodepuration system ensures on-site treatment of grey water.
The success of this project is the result of the hard work and commitment of the students, who put a great deal of energy into creating this functional and comfortable home. Exchanges between the students and the association’s beneficiaries enriched the process, testifying to the importance of collaboration and awareness of social issues.
The Tiny House, now completed, is located near the Maison de Naubalette (GAF site). The students handed over the keys to the association on Friday, May 3, 2024, proud to have participated in this initiative of solidarity and social and environmental innovation. The event was covered by La Dépêche.

Visite de l’habitat par les bénéficiaires du GAF et des étudiants Icam
Le 3 mai, les étudiants de 4e année du Bachelor International Icam ont remis les clés d’une Tiny House à l’association Groupe Amitié Fraternité (GAF), dans le cadre de leur projet final. Cette Tiny House servira d’hébergement aux sans-abri dans le besoin, offrant ainsi une solution concrète à un problème social pressant.
Le projet final du Bachelor International consiste à réaliser un projet à l’échelle 1:1, dans ce cas précis, un “Habitat Low Tech”. Ce projet, mené sur deux semestres, implique la conception (semestre 1) et la construction (semestre 2) d’un “habitat de demain” avec un accent particulier sur les solutions low-tech.

Les étudiants ont souhaité apporter une dimension humaine significative, en accord avec les valeurs de l’Icam. C’est ainsi qu’un partenariat avec le Groupe Amitié Fraternité (GAF) a été établi. Cette année, sur le site de l’Icam à Toulouse, les étudiants ont travaillé en collaboration avec le GAF, qui gère des “Lieux à Vivre” pour les sans-abri.
La Tiny House réalisée est le fruit d’un projet durable et low-tech. Elle utilise des matériaux recyclés et intègre des éléments tels qu’un toit végétalisé et un système de chauffage solaire à ardoise pour une isolation optimale et une régulation efficace de la température intérieure. De plus, l’installation de toilettes sèches permet de réduire la consommation d’eau, et un système de phytoépuration assure le traitement sur place des eaux grises.
L’aboutissement de ce projet est le résultat du travail impliqué et de l’engagement des étudiants, qui ont déployé une énergie considérable pour réaliser cet habitat fonctionnel et confortable. Les échanges entre les étudiants et les bénéficiaires de l’association ont enrichi le processus, témoignant de l’importance de la collaboration et de la sensibilisation aux enjeux sociaux.
La Tiny House, désormais finalisée, se trouve à proximité de la Maison de Naubalette (site du GAF). Les étudiants ont donné les clés à l’association vendredi 3 mai 2024, avec la fierté d’avoir participé à cette initiative de solidarité et d’innovation sociale et environnementale. L’événement a notamment été repris par La Dépêche.
